As well our trips and visits, we also aim to include a wide range of different learning opportunities throughout our curriculum in ordinary lessons. We are extremely lucky to have fantastic school grounds and our very own forest schools area and we use our outside spaces in a range of different curriculum areas. We ask ourselves 'Where is the best place for this learning to take place?' and aim to enrich our curriculum wherever possible by taking our lessons outside, inviting experts into school, or creating lessons that are a bit different by using something like role play, playing a game or going on a virtual tour.
The children benefit from forest schools sessions for half a day every half term led by our very own Forest School's teacher and champion Miss Holmes. The children love these sessions and they develop a range of personal skills such as resilience and team work at the same time as befitting from working outside in nature.
